New Toyota Warranty
New Toyotas come with a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty that covers components such as the engine, transmission, drivetrain, and transaxle for a period of 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first. In addition to this, new Toyotas come with a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty that covers essentially all of the car’s components that are not considered normal wear and tear maintenance items.
Toyota Hybrid Warranty
In addition to the basic coverage that comes with a new Toyota, a new Toyota hybrid also includes its own hybrid warranty. This covers all hybrid-related components—such as the battery control module, the hybrid control module, and the HV battery—for a period of 8 years or 100,000 miles from the original vehicle purchase date.
Certified Used Toyota Warranty
Toyota is confident in the quality of their certified used cars; after all, a Toyota cannot be certified unless it passes a 160-point inspection and reconditioning process. To reflect this confidence, Toyota includes an extended warranty with every certified pre-owned Toyota. A 12-month/12,000-mile basic Toyota warranty, from the certified used car purchase date, covers virtually all components of the car that are not classified as normal wear and tear. Certified used Toyotas also come with a 7-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty from the original new car purchase date. All certified used Toyotas also come with one year of 24-hour roadside assistance.
